Archiving Strangers

As an artist and historian, it is very important to me that I archive, archive, archive, hence the name of my website. This extends to the rest of my life through ways of collecting things like old film slides, post cards, used annotated books, photos, junk journaling with mundane daily items. I love to get a peek into someone else’s world and wonder about their life, and I like to document mine to remember my own.

The photographs collected here were found at the Value Village a couple of blocks from the house I live in with my friends. The discovery of not one but THREE full Rondex magazine slides – two of my native city in the 1970's and one of Thailand in the late 1980's – felt like a sweet goodbye as I leave my east end neighbourhood after almost a decade.

The photographers of these collections are, unfortunately, unknown.
